Fulham FC to Brighton & Hove Albion (Bike Ride)

A nice early start for this end of November bike ride to the AMEX stadium. Des, Robbie, Morgan and I met up at Craven Cottage at 6am on the day of the match to undertake the 60 mile bike ride to Brighton & Hove Albion's AMEX stadium. As most of you know the end of November is a chilly one and this day was no exception. We hoped the lycra would keep us warm enough on the bikes.

As we set off and rode through South London, reaching Croydon, the mood was one of happiness and fun. We stopped a few times due to, let's call them direction mishaps, but it did give us time to talk and get to know each other.

We got lost a few times on this cycle down to the South Coast, with the changing landscape from built up inner city areas into countryside and winding country roads and lanes. Spirits remained high despite the route challenges and we laughed and pushed each other on to complete this bike ride.

Morgan plotted out a route that took us up a hill, and was also the culprit for my punctured front tyre. As always I had left the repair kit at home, particularly helpful when you are venturing out on a long bike ride! In stepped Robbie to the rescue, and we were back on our way. It was on our descent of this hill from the South Downs that an opening in the trees appeared...and there it was before us, the AMEX Stadium. We had made it in one piece safe and well.

This cycle ride sparked conversations with Brighton fans on our arrival in lycra and neon vests. Seeing Fulham and Brighton fans talking about mens mental health, it truly blew us away.
